Why register?

From SFeditors

Jump to: navigation, search

There are many reasons to register an account in order to edit the SFeditors wiki. One of them, obviously, is that you can then be credited for your work. Every page has a complete History where anyone can go see what revisions were made by whom. The wiki also has pages for searching User contributions, the User list, etc. Furthermore, you can create a User page about yourself that says who you are, points to your website and blog, etc., and in discussions you can sign your comments and that signature will link back to your user page (just click through your username link on the user list or a page history to start editing your user page).

There are other handy tools that the wiki offers for registered users. Each page has a tab labeled "watch'; if you are a registered user you can click that tab to add the page to your watchlist, which helps you track changes to pages you are interested in. And people can send you messages. All kinds of handy things.

Later in the life of this wiki we may choose to give certain established editors administrative abilities that other people don't have, which may be an incentive as well. And, seeing as this is about SF, we might just start giving away SF books in random drawings too. So please, register, and then log in to make your edits.
